  • Nationality: Both applicant and parents must be non-Korean citizens.
  • Education: Completed high school (12 years) or equivalent.
  • Language: TOPIK Level 3+, or Completion of Level 4 at GKNU Korean Language Institute, or equivalent.

4. Tuition & Scholarships

Tuition (Approx. per semester): 1.6M KRW ~ 2.3M KRW (Very affordable!)

Scholarships:

  • GKNU Challenge: 50% tuition waiver (Top performer in Language Institute)
  • GKNU Talented: 1,000,000 KRW/semester (TOPIK 3+)
  • Admission Scholarship: 22% tuition waiver for all qualified new students.
  • Academic Excellence: 30% ~ 100% tuition waiver based on GPA.

Graduate Admission

1. Programs (Master's & Doctoral)

Offering specialized research programs in Humanities, Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Arts. English Track available for select majors (e.g., Computer Eng., Mechanical Eng., Int'l Business).

2. Eligibility

  • Master's: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Doctoral: Master's degree required.
  • Language: TOPIK 3+ OR TOEFL 530 / IELTS 5.5 (for English Track).

Korean Language Institute

1. Program Overview

Intensive 10-week courses offered 4 times a year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter). 200 hours per term.

2. Costs

  • Application Fee: 60,000 KRW
  • Tuition: 2,300,000 KRW (for 2 terms / 6 months)
  • Insurance: Approx. 80,000 KRW (6 months)

Government Scholarships (GKS & K-GKS)

Global Korea Scholarship (GKS)

Fully funded government scholarship for Undergraduate and Graduate students.

  • Benefits: Full Tuition, Monthly Allowance, Airfare, Insurance, Settlement Allowance.
  • Apply: Typically via Embassy (Sep/Mar) or University Track (Sep/Mar).

K-GKS (Gyeongbuk-style)

Special scholarship for STEM & Regional Strategic Industries (Master's/Doctoral).

  • Vision: Bio, Smart Farm, Battery, etc.
  • Benefits: Full Tuition + Living Allowance provided by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
  • Condition: Must work/stay in Gyeongbuk for 3 years after graduation (Visa support F-2-R provided).
